Second Class Post
Our postal system is in chaos and this Christmas it could easily reach breaking point. A combination of demoralised staff, local sorting office closures and the introduction of new and untried working methods could easily result in millions of items simply not getting delivered by December 24th. And that, I can honestly tell you, breaks my old postie's heart.

We call it Door to Door, or Household. You call it junk mail. The council calls it landfill. The people who design this stuff should be made to deliver it themselves.
11 commentsDownstream Access
Postal workers will certainly know about Downstream Access, but how many members of the public have heard about it? The following is a user’s guide to Downstream Access and its impact on the Royal Mail.
10 commentsThe New Agreement
The new agreement between the Royal Mail and the CWU is out. I’m looking at a copy now. It’s called “Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond.”
